This course is a central course in an integrated set of courses designed to prepare students for leading outdoor pursuits activities.  The purpose of this course is to develop safety, campcraft and field leadership skills.

The three-day outing includes a driver training component, a night hike to a campsite on the Oregon coast, and scenario-based learning modules emphasizing the development of field leadership skills. 

PEO 285 - Wilderness Survival is a prerequisite to participation in this course.

PEO 351 - Backpacking (or equivalent experience) is also required. No exceptions!
