Readings By Lecture
This course introduces students to the natural history of the region and develops teaching and interpretation skills. The focus is on gaining an understanding of the ecology of oak/savanna and coastal Cascades old growth ecosystems.
Course topics include: ecological concepts, teaching in the outdoors, natural history, and environmental interpretation. Emphasis is placed on using a taxanomic key to identify native trees and shrubs.
